Tech in the UK 2023—Innovation Nation

In collaboration with Barclays Eagle Labs, we delve into the UK’s tech ecosystem, offering an in-depth analysis of its growth patterns and opportunities.

To gauge insights on access to capital and support structures, this report surveyed 2,500 individuals within the tech sector. Most participants (65.4%) expressed positive views of public and local grants despite acknowledging (46.6%) a financial disparity outside of London.

In addition to public funding, equity investment is also crucial for the success of tech companies. Despite a dip from the peaks of 2021 and 2022, tech investment in 2023 still exceeded pre-pandemic figures. This signals a recovery in equity funding and a stronger UK position in fostering tech innovation.
