Seeding to Succeed: First-time Deals 2022 Trends
In our latest partnership with SFC Capital, we’ve revisited trends in seed-stage investment and first-time deals for UK companies.
Seed-stage companies experienced a 27.6% decrease in first-time deals in 2022 compared to the previous year, suggesting investor behaviour towards new opportunities has become more cautious, at least for now.
In this analysis, we also assess the potential impact of changes to the government scheme SEIS, implemented in April 2023, which aims to incentivise further investment into seed-stage businesses.
