Understanding the activity in a specific location is key to identifying trends and spotting opportunities. With Beauhurst Collections, you can easily monitor companies in a particular location and industry — ensuring you always have the latest insights at your fingertips.

What are Collections?

A Collection is a set of companies, curated by you, on the Beauhurst platform. They are an efficient way to group companies together and then get notifications when important changes and updates to companies happen that have been assigned to the Collection.
Here’s how you can use Collections to analyse an area every month and stay ahead of the curve.

Step one: Create an Advanced Search

To get started, create an Advanced Search on the Beauhurst platform. Make sure the criteria you enter focuses on a specific location and then, narrow it down to a particular industry to ensure that the results are relevant.

Top tip: Filter for ‘live’ companies. This way, you’ll have a clear picture of the active companies in the area you’re interested in.

Step two: Set up a Collection

Once your search is set up, add it to a Collection. Here, you can turn on ‘Auto-add’ and ‘Auto-remove’ to make the list dynamic, ensuring it stays updated with any changes in the area. This Collection will serve as your go-to resource for your monthly area download.

Be sure to add a description, so you know it’s dedicated to tracking and analysing this specific region.

Step three: Export the data

At the end of each month, visit your Collection to review and download the data. If you save the Collection to your favourites for quick access, it makes it simple to find when you need it. Export the Collection to get details like company size, turnover, and other key metrics. Adding this data to a spreadsheet each month allows you to track changes and compare performance over time, giving you a clear view of how the area is evolving.
By following this process, you’ll always have a reliable, up-to-date view of the businesses in your chosen area, helping you make informed decisions and seize new opportunities.
